Seventy-four people have died from various safety-related accidents in Guangdong during the National Holiday from October 1-7, according to the Guangdong Provincial Administration of Work Safety. Reports claim that a total of 566 accidents occurred during the period, which in addition to the above mentioned deaths resulted in 298 injuries.
Of those figures, over 236 accidents were traffic related, causing 66 deaths and 293 injuries. A further 322 accidents were fire related, causing two deaths and one injury.
