71% of Chinese Believe That Money Equals Success

According to a IPSOS survey that took answers from 20 different countries, 71% of Chinese answered yes to, ‘I measure my success by the things I own’. This percentage was significantly higher than any other the country; India ranked second at 58%. The average among all 20 countries was 34%, with Turkey, Brazil, Poland all ranking above average. Canada, England and Spain all ranked lower than the average.

Another statement on the survey was, “I feel under a lot of pressure to be successful and make money”, 68% of Chinese respondents answered yes, while the average across the 20 countries was only 46%
