Recently, the Beijing Subway Company has announced a newly imposed control of passenger traffic for metro Line 5 during morning rush hours (7:00-9:00 Monday-Friday). Seven stations that will have the imposed control of passenger traffic include: Tiantongyuan North Station, Tiantongyuan Station, Huixinxijie Beikou Station, Huixinxijie Nankou Station, Dongdan Station, Liujiayao Station, and Songjiazhuang Station. Dongdan Station is near a busy commercial area, so the imposed passenger traffic control will last as long as is necessary to relieve congestion. According to a staff member with the subway company, in the peak commute hours, they will impose different impediments to try and divide passengers into different groups entering the station.
