60 Tons of Soy Sauce Sold in One Day in Zhenjiang Soy Sauce Bonanza

Soy sauce fever has taken over one town in Jiangsu Province as over 5,000 residents queued to buy soy sauce on Sunday. Nearly 60 tons of the condiment was sold between 07:30 and 17:00.

One man bought an astonishing 350 kilograms of soy sauce by himself from the supply center, which had prepared nine enormous vats for the occasion.

According to Dai Jianjun, from condiment company Hengshun Group, this soy sauce buying frenzy has been a tradition for the past 30 years. The company has prepared 400 tons of soy sauce in anticipation for the big crowds. They’re expecting 20,000 customers during the sale period of February 8-15.

One resident, who bought 10 kilos as a year’s supply, said that the soy sauce is two mao cheaper per jin and tastes better than other soy sauce available in the town.

Only if they knew , what is the soy sauce made off. would they care ? or just dismiss it and continue ... for me, whenever in food is soy sauce, 95% of that time, I have runs just few minutes after consummation.
