6 Mainlanders Beat Up HK Airline Staff After Flight Delay
Jul 28, 2015 By eChinacities.com

Six Mainland passengers were arrested after violently beating Hong Kong Airlines staff at the Hong Kong Airport.

Three male passengers and three female passengers, all Mainlanders, were arrested at the scene. Seven injured staff members, three men and four women, were taken to North Lantau Hospital.

Hong Kong's Apple Daily reported that a 2 pm flight delay caused the uproar among the waiting passengers.

Angered by the delay, a female passenger attempted to run into the bridge to board the plane. Seven Hong Kong Airline staff members tried to stop her, and ended up in a scuffle with five other passengers also attempting to board.

I have no tolerance for people who lose their cool and become violent or abusive in airports and on airplanes. On another note, if you have to travel domestically in China and demand punctuality stick to the high speed rail. Those trains are on time to the minute while the airports have some of the worst records in the world for percentage of delayed flights. Maybe these people had to be somewhere after their flight landed - if so they should have planned ahead for the likely event of a delay. Or they're just selfish imbeciles who have no idea how to behave like civilized adults.

i was in a crowd waiting to board a boat. bad weather delayed the ferry the previous day, and the first boat was completely full. the second one was very small and filled up in no time. it was preparing to leave, when one guy decided to jump the barrier and face off with security. the first moment is the most frightening, because then the other passengers decide if they want to copy him or not. i said "oh shit" and started looking at the people behind me. my family was holding two young babies, so a stampede can be life-threatening. luckily, nobody else followed the asshole over, and after my vocal panic, the guards let the children across the barrier just in case.

They were arrested and then what? I want to know how these people will be punished. It needs to be unpleasant enough and widely publicized to deter others.

Yup...a lot of that about. Dunno why it is, it seems to be a trait in Chinese culture. Impatient..I want my needs serviced now and to hell with anyone else. Impulsive...do now, think later. It is very odd...why is it?

@Matt Yup, en masse speaking, nothing makes sense when you think of them as psychologically healthy human beings. Everything makes sense once you see them for what they are, Alcatraz as someone pointed out.

You do really have to wonder what on Earth they thought was going to happen once they were on the plane. Then again I really do swear that Chinese seem to believe that despite having a ticket and being at the gate, the plane will somehow take off without them if they don't push and shove their way to the front.
