China’s rapid expansion of the highspeed rail network has already dramatically reduced travel time from Beijing to major cities in China and the latest city to be added to that list is Dalian. From September 12, the journey time between Beijing and Dalian will be reduced to six hours when the Panjin-Yingkou section of the highspeed rail officially opens.

The new route means travelers no longer have to stop in Shenyang to get to Dalian, thereby reducing the overall journey time by 1.5 hours. Train tickets for the route are already available on www.12306.cn, China’s official train ticket booking site. At present, second-class seats from Beijing to Dalian cost 266 RMB.

What’s more, three extra bullet trains will begin servicing the Beijing-Dalian route from September 12, bringing extra convenience to travelers. The newly added trains – D37/8, D41/2 and D45/6 – depart at 7:37, 9:52 and 15:51 respectively.
