Shenzhen’s Dongmen Walking Street area will be holding a sort of environmental awareness campaign from June 1 to September 1, which will crack down on uncivilized behavior such as spitting, throwing gum or cigarette butts on the ground, urinating and littering. Pedestrians caught littering will be fined on the spot 50 RMB, while businesses caught littering will be fined 1,000 RMB.
