I would like to know if, based on this new outbreak of H7N9, I should just avoid chicken altogether. I always buy the packaged (Tyson is it? can't remember, rigid plastic tray) at Carrefour. Are there precautions to check for quality ie. detection of infected chicken? My gut tells me that there is NO quality check for this particular virus and it's just plain old bad luck if you get an infected drumstick.
