Taxi passengers in Nanjing can now use their IC Cards to pay for their fares in about 3,600 city taxis, which are conveniently identified by a label on the dashboard that reads “welcome to use IC card”. If refused, passengers can call 96196 to issue complaints. According to the new Nanjing public transportation management regulations, starting next year, taxi drivers who refuse to receive IC cards will be regarded as violating the rules.
