3-day Holiday and Free Public Transport During Asian Games

The Guangzhou Municipal Government has issued 10 welfare policies during the Asian Games and Asian Paralympic Games, which include a three-day holiday, free public transport for 30 workdays and some travel discounts, etc. These policies can be enjoyed by all Guangzhou permanent residents (including non-local residents that have lived in Guangzhou for more than half a year) and all the construction workers for Asian Games projects. In addition, access to Wireless Network (WLAN) will be free to all the people for 60 days from Nov. 1st to Dec. 31st.

The Three-day Holiday includes; the very day of the opening ceremony of Asian Games (Nov. 12th, Friday), the day before closing ceremony of the Asian Games (Nov. 26th, Friday) and the day after the opening ceremony of Asian Paralympic Games (Dec. 13th, Monday).

Cars will be restricted based on the odd and even number rule for 46 days, (Nov. 1st to 39th, Dec. 5th to 21st). With 13 weekends and three-day holiday excluded, free public transport can be enjoyed for 30 workdays.
