The 2010 Beijing International Marathon will take place on October 24th. The race is organized by the China Athletics Association and promoted by China Olympic Road Race Sports Co., Ltd. (CORS). It's approved by IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) and AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races), and is the highest-level marathon in China. The starting point is Tiananmen Square and the route has been designed to include major landmarks around the city. If they can clear the sweat out of their eyes, runners will be able to get a feel for the transition from “Old Beijing” to “New Beijing”. This will be the 30th anniversary of the event, so organizers are planning a celebration, and having been holding a marathon exhibition.
