Beijing downtown area hopes to achieve 42% commute by public transportation in the year 2012 – so as to relieve some of the major traffic congestion around the city.

In and around metro and bus travel hubs, the city hopes to develop a bustling bike-rental business to better accommodate for commuters making exchanges between modes of transportation.
