According to a survey by Hurun, a research company that studies trends in China, a third of China’s richest people have emigrated, but of them, only 15% actually want to give up their Chinese citizenship.

Many Chinese immigrants want a foreign identity because it gives them security; They purchase property and/or start businesses in the hopes of gaining citizenship in their adopted countries.
