The only "official" Oktoberfest in Shanghai, the 14th Shanghai German Oktoberfest will take place September 14 - 24th. A representative from the Renaissance Yangtze Shanghai Hotel, where the event will be held, said that a 1,300 person "beer tent" was going to be set up outside, and would be decked out with tradition Bavarian folk decor, big wooded beer kegs, authentic drinking ware, and the warm hospitality of "beer maidens" wearing traditional attire. There will be music on hand too, with the "Original Muenchner Musikanten" cranking out the hits, so bring your dancing shoes (and lederhosen).

Finally, a raffle will be held each night to liven things up even more. Tickets go on sale in August, and can be ordered by calling the hotel or going to the hotel's website. On weekdays its 288 RMB per person, on weekends its 368 RMB per person. Each ticket includes access to the traditional German buffet, three .500 ml glasses of Weihenstephan beer, unlimited soft drinks, a raffle ticket and live performances.
