One adventurous rat decided to travel the world by making a cozy nest for herself in the business class seat (economy just wouldn’t do) of a Hong Kong airliner. In the process she gave birth to ten little ones who joined her on an adventure of a lifetime. No, this is not the theme of the newest Pixar animation; this is a true story!

On September 30, during a routine maintenance inspection of an airplane from Hong Kong, the Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of Xiamen Airport found a nest with 11 rats in it under one of the business class seats. After conducting tests on the rodents, it was determined that they came from abroad.

Rats on board flights pose great health and safety risks, according to one staff member of the Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. They are capable of transmitting 57 different types of diseases and their sighting could frighten passengers and bring down an entire plane; their onboard presence could also cause delays, emergency landings or the cancellation of flights.

Unfortunately for the rat, her ambitious dreams of travelling the world came to an abrupt and deadly end…

They had that movie "Snakes on a Plane." Might as well run this as the sequel: "Rats on a Plane." Nice to know that us poor passengers in cattle class economy are not favored by traveling rats. Adds a touch of danger and excitement to being upgraded don't you think?
