On August 17th, in Haining (Zhejiang Province), along the north shore of the Qiantang River, the tides were surging and there were waves crashing on to shore that were more than 10 m high. The intersection of Ding Bridge and Jianshan has become a popular place to see these huge waves in action. But be careful if you do go; according to reports, three thrill seekers who apparently got a little too close to the action were killed.
