Shenzhen’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed 10 cases of dengue fever in Shenzhen so far this year, according to the Shenzhen Daily.
Although the situation seems to have worsened from last year when there were 10 cases total, there have been no deaths or serious cases.
Authorities are reminding travelers to be extra vigilant when visiting sub tropical regions and protect themselves against mosquitoes, which are the main carriers of the disease.
Anyone who begins experiencing symptoms such as fever, nausea, rashes, and joint and muscle ache should seek medical attention immediately.
