International Young Interactive Entrepreneur Award Event Coming to Guangzhou

An interactive event concerned with new media has been organized by the British Council with the UK Embassy in China and Pecha Kucha Night organizers in Guangzhou. The event kicks off in the evening of July 24th at Fei Gallery. It is part of a series of events for the 2010 International Young Interactive Entrepreneur Award (IYIE) in China – inventive leaders and professionals in the field of digital and new media Jeremiah Alexander and Paul Croft from UK will be bringing with them sparks of creativity and inspiration to share with the local interactive entertainment and media specialists.

The event is part of the competition for the IYIE award and will be aimed at introducing ideas about ingenuity and creativity that are highly valued in British culture to industry specialists in Guangzhou. The event will focus on discussing topics that are important for every professional working in the interactive entertainment and media industry, including how to foster competitive edge and how to push for continuous development of ideas in the industry, etc.

In a world that needs and craves new ideas and creativity, those young entrepreneurs that have the sparks of what it takes to emerge as winners among the fierce competition will make for great pioneers in the interactive media industry. And the IYIE award is exactly a recognition of that kind of talent.

2010 is the second year that the IYIE awards is held and will focus on selecting emerging talents from the newly emerged 14 economies of the world, including China, Argentina, India, and Columbia. The British Council local offices will be responsible for selecting 14 representatives from the respective countries.

The 14 candidates will then be flown to the UK in October to participate in further activities. They will travel to London and other major hubs for media creativity in the UK, meet with industry leaders, and participate in seminars held by internationally recognized British entrepreneurs in the interactive media industry.

If you're interested in signing up for the IYIE awards in China, you need to log on to the official website of the event at ce.britishcouncil.org.cn and register your account, download the registration form in Word format and mail your form before September 10th, 2010 to ce@britishcouncil.org.cn to complete the registration process.
