That was Will Smith’s definition of summer madness in Philly, back in 1991. Where do you want to travel in China, in 2009? You’ve been working and studying through the fall and winter, spring has come and gone and now it’s summer and time to make some moves. China is a big country and from Xinjiang to the beaches of Hainan; the unique combination of Eurasian culture that is Harbin to the rainforests of Xishuangbanna, there are plenty of places to visit. Do you have plans for traveling this summer? Are you trying to put some together now? We asked you…

Yunnan. Because I want to get away from the dusty and crowded east coast cities.

I'm torn between a week of beach hopping in Sanya, and a week exploring Fujian province. Sanya appeals to my lazy side, while the Fujian trip would be culturally fulfilling, and I could sneak in some sand/beach time in Xiamen.

I’d like to go to Tibet and Nepal. I’d like to go to Italy but that’s far away, Tibet is more realistic.

I want to travel to Pakistan this summer. I know, I know, you hear about the bombings, theTaliban, and all the violence. But today my perspective changed. Today on CNN, I saw a tourist commercial for Pakistan and everyone seemed happy, drinking tea, beautiful scenery; in short, there was no fighting. Should I believe the commercial or the news? I choose the former.

I need to get out of Shanghai and go somewhere quieter. Say, somewhere quite and provincial with only 10 million people. Also I’d like to go north since Shanghai is already way too hot and crowded and going south it only gets hotter. I think now would be a great time to visit the Harbin Ice Festival.

I want to travel to Dalian this summer because I've never been to the seaside since I was born. My dream is very simple. Just to walk with naked feet on the beach and pick up some shells and crabs and let the breezes smooth my face. Touching the nature especially the sea can bring me a lot of joy.

Maybe this sounds lame, but I’d like to vacation here in Tianjin! Living here normally there are so many thing I miss because I do the same routine everyday. I’d like to spend some time being a tourist in my own (adopted) home.

I would like to go to Xinjiang; many people think that I came from that city. On the street I also meet a few Xinjiang people, they try to speak with me but I don't understand them, I speak with them in Mandarin.

I will only travel back home to Italy for 10 days. I cannot travel more than this since I am teaching at a summer school.
