A video of a toddler smoking on the street whilst adult onlookers laughed has gone viral with online commentators breathing a collective gasp of horror. Much of the criticism has been directed at the passersby who failed to stop him.
The child, who is thought to be between two and three years old, was seen on Liveleak smoking a cigarette whilst people cycled past and laughed. At one point a woman admonishes the baby but makes no attempt to remove the cigarette from him.
Commenters were understandably appalled with one user labeling the video ‘sick’, whilst another called it ‘absolutely shocking’.
Although this isn’t the first instance of kindergarten aged smokers in China, the country still has a way to go to reach the dizzying heights of Indonesia’s notorious smoking baby who’s 40 a day habit and subsequent rehabilitation, all before the age of three, caught international attention.
