A group of security guards and Buddhist Masters from Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou have banded together to start China’s first independent anti-terrorism group in light of the March 1 Kunming train station attack.

The monks who have joined the group will worship during the day but devote their evenings to training against any possible terrorist threat.

According to the temple the group was founded on April 1, and already has 45 members, including 20 high level monks from the temple and 25 security guards. To deal with any danger that might arise they have stock piled riot shields, police batons and ‘anti-explosion forks’ which are essentially giant pincers that police use to restrain would-be trouble makers.

The 25 security guard members will also carry pepper spray, batons and other weapons in case of emergency. The temple which is famous for its laughing Buddha statue receives around 10,000 tourists and worshippers a day.

Angry religious nationalism born out of terrorism scare tactics. USA is itching to sue them for copyright violations. That's *their* intellectual property!
