Henan Woman Shreds 100,000 RMB in Cash after Family Feud

And who said the Chinese were materialistic?

A 65 year-old woman named Zhao from Sanmenxia, Henan, recently had a bust up with her 80-year-old mother (who judging by the age difference could also be her sister). The quarrel reached a climax when Zhao, in a fit of rage, rushed to the bank to withdraw her life savings of 100,000 RMB and then shredded the huge cash sum in front of her mother.

After realizing what she’d done, Zhao did what many of us would have done in the same situation—jump straight into the Yellow River. After being pulled out by the Henan police, Zhao now has what is possibly the most expensive confetti in the world for the next time she attends a wedding.
