Following the death of 127 year old Luo Meizhen in Guangxi in June, a new successor to the title “oldest person in the world” has been found in Xinjiang.

Ali Mihan from Shule county of Kashi, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region is said to be born on June 25, 1886. She reportedly likes to sing love songs and loves children. She drinks cold water throughout the year and is said to be in fairly good shape given her age. Her daily routine consists of singing songs, walking through the bazaars and visiting relatives to tell jokes.

There are currently eight people centenarians in Shule County but two are said to be in poor health. A list of China’s oldest persons will be published on October 11 and it is hoped that Shule County will become recognized as a “longevity county”.
