Reptiles are some of the most fascinating, mysterious creatures on Earth. For about roughly 320 million years, reptiles in one form or another have been traversing this planet. No matter whether we see them as fearsome predators like poisonous snakes and alligators, or as unassuming visitors or pets such as geckos and chameleons, one fact is clear: reptiles’ coexistence with humans only represent a tiny fraction of their overall timeframe on Earth – these creatures have been seeing the sun rise and set for much longer than our limited brains can even grasp. In fact, dinosaurs are even categorized as reptiles, which highlights the historic and geological significance of the reptile kingdom.

This summer, visitors and residents in Guangzhou can marvel at the wonders of reptiles first-hand at the Guangzhou Crocodile Park – the world’s largest crocodile park which houses over 100,000 crocs. An exhibition featuring over 10,000 amazing reptiles from all over the world are on view at the park, including golden cobras and a multitude of other snake types, ancient turtles, chameleons and many more. And for those craving action, wrestling shows with specially trained instructors and fierce cold-blooded animals will take place at the park. Some call it courageous, others crazy, but those visitors seeking more excitement in their lives can also challenge some of the reptiles to a fight.

The park is also the place to go for fans of all things snake related. Featuring a huge range of snake types that can be touched and even picked up, Crocodile Park is the ultimate place to learn more about these fascinating creatures and to really move one step closer into to their world.

Another major highlight of the park is the ancient turtles, including a gigantic one that is over 300 years old! Turtle breeds living in the park include crocodile turtles, “pillow” turtles (so called because of their pillow-like shape), turtles with panther patterns on their shell, and many more. The earliest known turtles date from 215 million years ago, and some can weigh as much as 900kgs and reach 6 feet in size! To learn more interesting facts like these, and to get up close and personal with them, then it’s best to grab your belongings and come to the Guangzhou Crocodile Park now!
