Shenzhen may not be the most bike-friendly city, but now that the major construction boom of the past few years has finally settled down, there are the beginnings of what appears to be real biking trails springing up over the city. If you head out to the Shatoujiao neighborhood of Yantian on a weekend you will see plenty of lost bikers who have just descended Wutong mountain (the wrong way), and the marsh lands along Nanshan Districts coast are now open with plenty of scenic snaking paths perfect for biking. If you’re wondering where to buy bikes in Shenzhen then check out the three options below.
1) Decathlon View In Map
This should be your first port of call. Exactly the same as the Decathlons all over Europe, this store (with further locations in Northern Nanshan and Futian) has absolutely everything you could possible need. You can buy high quality road bikes like the Triban 3 for around 3000 RMB, Rockrider mountain bikes for around 1600 RMB and cheaper models for under 1000 RMB. The shop has everything. Helmets, knee-pads, lights, bells, gloves, glasses, whistles, seat extensions; you name it, Decathlon has it. The shop is also the best place to buy almost every other sporting good you could possibly want, from clothes, to equipment, to machinery. It is all extremely high quality and properly safety checked.

2) Shenzhen Cyclist Futian Bicycle ShopView In Map
Nestled in the imposing Shenzhen stadium in Futian, this shop is probably your best bet if you want to find yourself something a bit more reasonable. The shop is crammed with bikes old and new, and there is a bit more room for haggling than there is in places like Decathlon. English speaking staff have been known to pop up now and again, but usually become hard of hearing when prices are to be discussed. Second hand bikes are your best option here, with properly sturdy models selling from anywhere between 400 RMB and 1,500 RMB. There are plenty of accessories as well, from helmets, to sunglasses and spare parts.

3) Saiqi Racing FitView In Map
This is definitely at the more rugged end of the spectrum. Also in Futian, this is a much more local shop that mostly offers repair services and sells spare parts. That is not to say however that there isn’t room for a bargain. English speakers should ask for Anson, who always seems to have a small rotating stock of decent bikes. Options are somewhat dependent on what is around, but I know of several people who got incredibly solid bikes for only around 300 RMB.
