The Fare up There: Shenzhen’s Highest Restaurants

Most people enjoy dining with a view every now and again; how about a view from the 99th floor? In the skyscraper city of Shenzhen, stratospheric dining is well within your reach, if you can stomach the sky-high price tags. Here we recommend four restaurants higher than 30 floors up, guaranteed to please both gourmands and acrophiles.

Located on the 99th floor of the five-star St. Regis Hotel in Kingkey 100 (the tallest building in the city and ninth tallest in the world), Elba is easily the highest restaurant in Shenzhen. Try the Caesar salad for a dose of fresh greens, chicken breast, smoked ham and two different cheeses. Desserts here come with a variety of fruity toppings, including blueberry, strawberry, and raspberry. They even put raisins in the ice cream.

Afternoon buffet prices are 58 RMB on weekdays and 68 RMB on weekends and holidays. Try the tender “bucket chicken”, shrimp dumplings, or the spicy pepper steamed fish.
