What is the difference between this survey and similar surveys in Western countries? Only the percentages... Even though its silly, "tradititional" gender norms are still present in most countries. Heh, just good for those of us who likes smart women, I suppose ;-)

Simple answer: The average Chinese man would lose face just walking next to her.

Many men may not participate in the discussion for fear of never being employed again. I believe educated and wealthy women are less likely to marry below their class than educated and wealthy men. Once a girl passes you it would be hard to get a date.

I'm sorry, do you seem to think all women are constantly communicating about what men they meet are telling them? Like there's some vast network called "reportadude"? Cause there isn't.

You are wrong. I am a Chinese woman with a master's in mathematics. I am very open to dating a man with a bachelors degree but those men are not open to dating me. Whenever I mention my educational background that is when they start sprinting in the opposite direction! It's very much men who can't also handle having a more educated partner!

I think it's good for us that a big percentage of our Chinese brothers are foolishly picky. A chinese girl with a PhD is really an amazing kind of woman, not childish and naive as many others.
