Chongqing Boy Reported for Stealing Cash by Own Mother; Snacks Were the Give Away

Remember the boy who sued his parents for not having enough money to pay for his tuition fees? In the latest money-related family feud, the mother of a boy in Chongqing took her son to the police after she discovered that he had withdrawn 4000 RMB from an ATM using someone else’s card.

The incident occurred on September 5 in Chongqing’s Qijiang District. A boy noticed that a bank card was stuck inside an ATM machine. Instead of doing the right thing and reporting the card to the bank, he went ahead and withdrew 4000 RMB. He then used 200 RMB of the money to buy a mountain of snacks.

When he got home with his catch of the day, his mother insisted he tell her where he got the money to buy all the snacks from. When she found out about the card, she took him straight to the police station and gave the police 4000 RMB to return to the card’s owner.

The boy was not charged for any crime thanks to his mother’s honesty, but was given a good telling off by police officers. Whether the mother allowed the boy to keep the snacks remains unknown.
