When the Chinese build, they build big. We regularly hear stories about China building the world’s biggest shopping mall, the world’s tallest building, the world’s most phallic-shaped building… Well now, China is planning to build Asia’s largest private art museum, and a whole fake island is being built just for it.

The island will be built next to Pingtan Island, which is off the coast of Fujian Province, and is set to cost around 800 million RMB to construct. The museum will reportedly host over 1,000 works of art as well as national treasures.

Although no completion date has been given, the museum (as you can see from the picture) is to be built in a kind of wavy shape which is supposed to reflect the surrounding topography.
