Yinchuan City to Increase Number of Public Toilets
May 07, 2010 By eChinacities.com

The City Government of Yinchuan has made a commitment to the public to invest 15 million RMB this year to build 50 new public toilets in the urban area. The new public toilets will take on different architectural forms, such as imitations of ancient Chinese buildings, pseudo-classic architecture, “invisible” public toilets, and “ethnic customs” toilets. There are currently 305 existing public toilets in Yinchuan city. But according to 2008 calculations, Yinchuan’s 108.2 square kilometer of built-up area in the city only amounts to three public toilets per square kilometer.
