Xi’an is joining the rest of the country in seriously increasing its level of security. The ancient capital will now be patrolled by assault vehicles armed with drones, piloted by the newly established PTU (Police Tactical Unit).

The new PTU consists of 60 of Xi’an’s finest, and includes two professional snipers. The armored vehicles can hold up to five officers, are blast proof and can withstand high impact crashes. They are also equipped with drones and can aid in all manner of emergency situations, from terrorist attacks to natural disasters.

The new crime fighting devices have been described as “four in one anti-terror fortresses” and are part of a nationwide increase in security.
