Although there are nearly 4000 taxis in Wuxi they are notoriously difficult to hail, especially during rush hour. The taxi fare in Wuxi is higher than in many other Chinese cities and is complicated to calculate, but most trips within the city centre should cost no more than the starting fare of 10 RMB with 1.9 RMB charged for every additional kilometer thereafter.
