The closest airport to Wuxi City is 12 kilometers away in Shuofang. The Wuxi Sunan Shuofang International Airport (无锡苏南硕放国际机场) has frequent services to Beijing (1.5hrs), Hong Kong (2.5hrs), Shenzhen (2hrs), Guangzhou (2hrs), Chengdu (3hrs) and Chongqing (2hrs) from where onward travel to the rest of the world is possible. What’s more, there are also regular flights to Hong Kong, Macau, Osaka and Tokyo; flights to other overseas cities usually require a transfer in Shanghai or Nanjing.
A shuttle bus (5 RMB) operates between Shuofang Airport and the railway station in Wuxi. The Wuxi Bus Station (near the railway station) has eight buses heading to Shanghai Pudong Airport, leaving about once an hour throughout the day. Buses to Nanjing Lukou International Airport leave from the Zhonglu Hotel about three times a day. Please check times before traveling.
