Mar 08, 2011 By eChinacities.com

Starting from March 15th, Wuhan will enforce a new residence permit system. According to the interim measures, all non-Wuhan residents over the age of 16 must apply for a residence permit if they intend to stay in the city for more than 30 days. The residence permit, which is free to apply for the first time, is valid for one year and can be extended. It has been stated that the system will ensure that non-Wuhan natives receive equal treatment in ten key aspects, including social insurance, compulsory education, medical treatment and employment.
