Wuhan Taxi Surcharge Will Increase on Jan 17
Jan 15, 2014 By eChinacities.com

January 17 will see an announcement in Wuhan that all of us dread, an increase in the price of taking a taxi. The surcharge, which currently sits at 1.5 RMB will jump to 2 RMB starting from that day.

Wuhan’s taxi prices are divided between their two cab companies; each with slightly different price systems. Elysee Taxi Co. starts at 6 RMB within 2 km and will cost you 1.4 RMB per kilometer within the first 7 kilometers and 2.1 RMB per kilometer after that. On the other hand, Triumph Taxi Co. starts at 8 RMB for the first two kilometers, costs 1.6 RMB per kilometer within 7 kilometers and rises to 2.4 RMB for every kilometer for trips longer than 7 kilometers.
