Wuhan International Airport Struggles to Maintain Domestic Flights

According to the statistics of Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, about 70% of domestic flights within 600 kilometers’ air-range have been grounded due to strong competition from high-speed railway. The number of passengers to Guangzhou and Shanghai (within 800 kilometers’ air-range) is also decreasing sharply. Only flights to the northeast, northwest and southwest can keep regular passenger flow. Tianhe International hosts 26 airlines and connects China to 30 international cities.
