On September 1, Urumqi Railway station will officially change its name to Urumqi South Railway Station, and will be printed on tickets as such.
There will be a transition period from September 9-19 during which tickets printed with either Urumqi Station or Urumqi South will be accepted. Afterwards, passengers will only be able to travel on tickets labeled Urumqi South.
