The United States Transportation Research Board (TRB) awarded Guangzhou a sustainable transportation award on January 24. At their annual meeting, the TRB confirmed that Guangzhou had won the award due to a number of factors, including its successful implementation of the Zhongshan Highway BRT (a rapid transit bus line), its citywide system of bike lanes and its many greenways. Guangzhou has now become the first city in China to receive this prize.
