UFO Sighting Above Hangzhou Causes Airport Closure and Delays
Jul 09, 2010 By eChinacities.com

A spokesperson with Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport has disclosed that air traffic controllers spotted an unidentified flying object on their surveillance system at around 21:00 on July 7th. As a result, the airport was closed down and inbound flights were diverted to nearby Ningbo and Wuxi.

“Passengers looking out from terminal buildings and airport personnel on the taxiway would not have been able to spot this flying object,” said an airport staff, “only sensitive monitors were able to pick up on the signals.”

The UFO spotting resulted in an hour long shutdown of the airport, and many inbound flights were redirected to nearby airports in Ningbo and Wuxi – delaying flights for at least 3 to 4 hours.
