Typhoon Usagi to Hit Guangdong and Shenzhen, Schools and Businesses Close

According to weather reports, this year’s 19th typhoon is heading towards Guangdong’s coastal region. It is likely to hit the shores of Taishan county this evening, with winds reaching 240 km/hour. Usagi (as it is being called) may succeed in being China’s biggest typhoon this year.

Torrential rain will accompany the typhoon and will affect Guangdong’s more southern regions. All schools in Shenzhen have been closed, construction sites have suspended any outdoor or high elevated work, and coastal tourist attractions have closed for the time being.
