Twelve Shenyang Roads Made Off Limits to Electric Bikes

According to a recently released bulletin regarding the management of electric bikes on roads, Shenyang officials have specified that 12 roads around town are off limits to electric scooters: Qingnian Avenue, Beiling Avenue, Beijing Street, Zhonghua Rd, Zhongshan Rd, Beizhan Rd, Shifu Avenue, Changjiang Street, Dongshuncheng Street, Huigong Street (from Huigong Plaza to Shizhengfu Plaza), Shengli Avenue (from Nanwu Rd to Bei’er Rd), and Xinghua Street intersecting with Jianshe Blvd (southern section).

Starting June 1st, those electronic bike riders that refuse to take other roads, even when advised about the new regulations, can face up to 2,000 RMB in fines and a 15-day jail sentence. Drivers that refuse to pay their tickets will have their scooters confiscated until fines are paid.
