A post on a popular Chinese internet forum has shown some rather surprising pictures documenting the supposed parade of waitresses at two hotels in Dongguan, Guangdong province. Chinese netizens have pondered over what the girls are doing and whether they are, in fact call girls. In response to questions about the pictures, local police have said that the girls in the photos are not call girls, but waitresses who also act as DJs in karaoke booths at the hotels. They added that the situation presented in the pictures was no longer the case, as both of the hotels' karaoke bars had no legitimate business license and thus have been shut down by authorities.

The pictures show the girls in camouflage suits and nurse costumes lined up in formation – much like soldiers in parade – outside the hotels. Chinese netizens have found the post very amusing and have dubbed it “Dongguan Call Girls' Parade” – hinting at just how fierce the competition is in the sex industry.
