Another unfortunate incident took place in Urumqi, Xinjiang on March 17, when a 29 year old man was shot dead after he attempted to attack a police station. An officer was wounded in the attack, and the suspect was fatally wounded when the police defended themselves.
This is another sad day in a region that has gone through similar events recently.
