Strong Winds Disrupt Tianjin Transportation
Mar 12, 2013 By eChinacities.com

Strong winds on March 9 caused various disruptions of Tianjin’s transportation services. Most notably, an airplane departing Tianjin’s airport was blown 25 meters off course by the strong winds, causing it to collide with the loading bridge. Meanwhile, an advertising billboard blew onto the tracks of Tianjin MTR’s line 9, stranding one train in between stations and forcing the line to close down temporarily. In addition, many bullet trains operating between Beijing and Tianjin suffered delays. There were also reports of fires breaking out at Tanggu and Jixian Mountain.
