Guest speaker: John McKenna

Join us at this month's Speakers' Corner where John McKenna, a professional travel consultant will talk about his experiences on travelling the real China and share with us his passion for travel and seeing new places.  Arriving in China in 1995 on the Trans-Siberian railway travelling all the way over land from London via Helsinki and St. Petersburg to Beijing, John has over 15 years of exploring all around the World.  His adventures in China include a 250km Gobi Dessert run in June 2007 and a 3,500km China Xinjiang Around Taklimakan Off Road Rally.     During the event John will talk about the immense opportunities for adventure in a country as historically rich as China, opportunities that are disappearing with the recent intense development of the local tourism industry.  He will also be at hand to give advice on getting an authentic experience of travelling China.
