Six New Subway Lines to Open in Wuhan

According to the Wuhan subway construction plan, Wuhan is set to open one new subway line every year from 2012 to 2017. In 2012, Phase I of Subway Line 2 from Changqing Garden to Luxiang Square will open. It is forecasted to cut traffic crossing the Yangtze River by half.

In 2013, Phase I of Subway Line 4 from Wuchang Railway Station to Wuhan Railway will open. In 2014, Phase II of Subway Line 4 from Hanyang Huangjinkou to Wuchang Shouyi Station will open. In 2015, Subway Line 3 from Tunkou to Sanjintan will open. In 2016, Phase I of Subway Line 8 from Sanjintan to Liyuan Square will open. In 2017, Phase I of Subway Line 6 from Sanjiao Lake to Holiday Square and Subway Line 7 from Jinyin Lake to South Lake will open.
