Shijiazhuang First International Sand-Carving Art Festival Opened

The 2009 China Shijiazhuang First International Sand-Carving Art Festival opened on July 5th. A number of sand-carving artists from America, England and Canada were invited to this festival. Sand-carvings of the little mermaid and doctor Henry Norman Bethune are attractive and full of foreign flavor. The sand-carving of Zhaozhou Bridge, stretching more than 10 meters long, is the most outstanding one. A total of about 50 sand-carving works in the Taipinghe ecological area of Shijaizhuang city reveal the enchantment of sand-carving art to the people who live in inland. Generally, sand-carving works can keep their shape for months, therefore, for the rest of the summer, citizen of Shijiazhuang can enjoy themselves by the beautiful scenery of these sand-carvings. The festival will last until November.

Address: located in the northwest of Shijiazhuang on the east side of National Highway 107. You can get to it by bus of No.31, 77 or 112 and get off at the Seed Industry stop.
