Shifting Markets: Foxconn to Open 12 Factories in India

Shifting Markets: Foxconn to Open 12 Factories in India
Jul 15, 2015 By eChinacities.com

Foxconn is planning a large-scale expansion in India, in a move away from the Chinese labor market. The company plans to open up to 12 plants in India employing 1 million local workers by 2020.

The conglomerate's shift away from the Chinese market has been influenced by a number of factors including rising labor costs and labor disputes.

Foxconn is currently the largest private employer in Mainland China and produces the world's Apple iPhones and iPads.

India has hoped to become a “world factory,” on the same scale as China for a number of years. However, because of weak infrastructure and complex employment regulations, the Indian manufacturing sector has been slow to develop.

Chinese-style Foxconn factories in India would be huge for the development of the India's manufacturing economy and would help further Indian Prime Minister Narenda Modi's “Made in India” movement.

that what happens if the salaries of Chinese raise 10-20% every year. At one point the Chinese will notice that there aren't enough jobs anymore and the government will have a huge problem with all the bullocks there are doing

I wouldn't buy a company's stock if it still hangs around china, has to be run by retards. "On Dec. 17, Microsoft said it was closing the mobile phone factories of Nokia in Beijing and Dongguan and moving the business to Hanoi. A number of other foreign enterprises are expected to join the exodus this year, including Panasonic, Sharp, Daikin, and TDK, all Japanese firms. They plan to transfer some capacity back to Japan or to other countries. Others such as Uniqlo, Nike, Foxconn, Funai, Clarion and Samsung are setting up new factories in Southeast Asia and India while scaling down their Chinese operations. Are you for real? There is one actress, a former pornstar from the West in Indian film industry and every second day she gets threatened to leave by fellow 'professionals'. Google "RSS" and you will find what will India do if given the money and power China has? They don't have time from hating each other based on caste system.
