Shenzhen Transport -Taxis

Red taxis can operate in or out of the special economic zone; yellow taxis can only operate within the special economic zone, and the green ones can only operate outside the zone. For those coming for the first time to Shenzhen, this can be quite complicated; hence, it is recommended to select a red taxi whenever possible.

The starting price for red and yellow taxis is 10 RMB with a 4 RMB fuel surcharge. 2.4RMB is charged for every km after the first 2 km. From 6:00-23:00,brides over 25 km are subject to a 30% added charge per additional km for the "time spent returning" fee. From 23:00-6:00, the starting price is bumped up to 16RMB and passengers must pay a 30% added charge for late-night driving. The price for waiting is 0.8RMB per minute. Luggage larger than 0.2 sq. m or heavier than 20 kg will be charged 0.5RMB per item of luggage.

The starting price for green taxis is 6 RMB with a 4 RMB fuel surcharge. 2.4RMB is charged for every km after the first 1.5 km. From 6:00-23:00, rides over 15 km are subject to a 30% added charge per additional km for the "time spent returning" fee. From 23:00 to 6:00, passengers must pay a 20% added charge for late-night driving. The price for waiting is 0.5 RMB per minute. Luggage larger than 0.2 sq. m or heavier than 20 kg will be charged 0.5 RMB per item of luggage.
