Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX)

Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport is located about 32 kilometers away from the city center. Currently, there are a total of 120 routes with domestic services to Beijing (3 hrs), Shanghai (2 hrs), Xi'an (2 hrs), Hangzhou (2 hrs), Haikou (1 hr), and many other major cities throughout China. International flights include Macau (0.5 hr), Singapore (4 hrs), Seoul (2 hrs), Kuala Lumpur (3.5 hrs), Chicago (16 hrs), Tokyo (5 hrs) and Bangkok (4 hrs) among others.

The airport is easily reached by taxi and shuttle with the latter being the most budget friendly way to travel. Current taxi fare from the airport to the city center will exceed 100 RMB.

There is a ferry service from Fuyong Pier (approx 360 RMB return), near Shenzhen Bao'an Airport, to Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok International Airport. Travel time is approximately 40 minutes. A shuttle bus runs regularly from the Shenzhen Bao’an Airport to the pier.

There is also direct shuttle buses from Shenzhen Bao'an Airport to Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok International Airport and to downtown Hong Kong. Tickets can be bought from the desk directly opposite the arrivals gate in airport. The trip (including border customs) takes about 90 minutes and costs 200 RMB.

A cheaper, but less convenient, option is to take the Airport Line 1 or Airport Line 2 bus from Shenzhen airport to the border post at Luohu, Shenzhen, and then connect directly with the Hong Kong rail system. The bus costs 20 RMB.

Shuttle Service:
The shuttle is one of the more budget friendly ways to travel between the city center and the airport. The airport also offers regular shuttle service to and from Hong Kong International Airport, Hong Kong (Wanzai) and Kowloon.

Free Bus
There are also free buses available from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport to Fuyong Wharf, which has direct lines to Hong Kong and Macau. The bus can be boarded in front of the airport terminal. Travel time is 10 minutes.
